Baby countdown

First of all I had no idea how to even put that baby countdown on my blog. I knew the basics but I didn't know where to find it. My non blogging husband knew. How sad is that? I am officially announcing to all that I am expecting a baby March 8, 2010. Just that year makes me feel old. We are very excited and have talked lots over the years about when we will have another baby. Noah will be four soon, Jeremy is almost done with school ( YESSSS!!!) and is already applying for jobs. Now more than every seemed like the right time, and we were shooting for March. This just may mean the thing I have waited for, well for the past four years...That I will be a stay at home mom. Hopefully. Please pray that the Juvenile Detention Center will be impressed by Jeremy's application enough to let him test for the position in October. He really wants to work with the youth...and really wants to be done with UPS. Noah asks me every day if I can stay at home and likes to pray that Jeremy will get this job. My poor child. I told Jeremy if we have a little girl then I have to stay at home. I will not let my little girl learn to "hiyah" people, as Noah calls his karate chop, and to already think potty humor is hilarious at three years old. Really, he'll learn that on his own, in say the second grade. I am very excited by all these prospects, but don't want to think about it too much. I have had my mind made up that I was close to staying at home before. Don't want to be let down, but still hopeful.

This baby countdown is making pregnancy seem so much longer. 200 days!

Leavitt Zoo

Sometimes my house feels a little like a zoo.

We have one dog, Corky. Who has more social and anxiety and trust issues than some humans I know.

We have one 80 gallon fish tank with many different fish, such as Parrot fish, Scat, Green Terror/Jack Dempsey, Rainbows, Convicts Cichlids, Cory Cat Fish, and Clown Loaches. I don't know which one is which of all of those names, but Jeremy sure does.

And then we have another addition. This one is Noah's and lives in his room. He tells people "he's green and red and his name is Hops!" Can you guess what he is?

Hops is a toad and does exactly what you think he might, he hops all the time. He eats crickets, but not any crickets that we find outside. Only the 10 cent ones that Pet Smart has. Go figure.

Oh and I have a monkey, he's four years old and his name is Noah.

I love my zoo.

Our Little Engineer

Something about Noah you may or may not already know. Noah is an Engineer by heart. I don't know if that's what he will be but he would certainly be good at it. Since he was two he has been enjoying taking his toys apart, watching how we put batteries in, and helping us when things like DVD players mysteriously get credit cards stuck in them. He loves it when a toy doesn't work, so he takes it apart and puts it back together(or attempts to rather). We have Geo train tracks that daily he puts together in some different shape and pattern. He is really good at making sure the loop is continuous and always meets up in the end. The track will go under couches over toys and books to make bridges of course. Now some moms might die when they hear Noah say "I need a screwdriver!", but am I really going to keep Noah from his creativity. Of course not. And we always are right there with him and his little screwdriver. It's a real screwdriver of course. Toy ones don't really work.





We hear from a friend that Lowe's has these projects for kids to do. They are free on a first come first served basis. Noah in his cute little Lowe's project has made a pirate ship with a plank that retracts and an opening and closing treasure chest. He loves the little hammers and I love that they don't hurt my fingers or his!


I'm sure you can imagine the disadvantages to this talent our son has, but I love my little engineer whether you follow in Grandpa's footsteps or not.

Welcome to the blog world

After many years of declining to blogging, I have finally decided to blog. Mainly because otherwise I can't comment on friend's blogs.
We have been emailing to my little brother on his mission every week and realized we communicate more now as a family then we ever have. We thought it would be a great idea for each of my siblings to start a blog so we can always keep up on each other's lives in between family dinners.
Here's to blogging. Hope I don't get sucked in!
